Metrolink engineer ignored red signal

Metrolink officials said today that the engineer of a commuter train ignored a red signal, which resulted in the rail crash yesterday afternoon at Chatsworth, California, that claimed the lives of 25 people.
Spokeswoman Denise Tyrell told the Los Angeles Times that the crash would not have happened had the engineer obeyed the signal.
