The mother of model Sahar Daftary has asked police not to treat her daughter’s death as suicide
The 23-year-old model, who was crowned the Face of Asia last year, fell from the 12th floor of an apartment complex at Salford Quays, near Manchester, at the weekend.
Her 33-year-old former lover, property developer Rashid Jamil, was arrested on suspicion of murder but was released on bail without charge.
Last December, the couple underwent a Muslim ceremony declaring their love for each other in Brentford, west London, but Daftary didn’t know that Jamil was married and his wife had given birth just a few months earlier

She had walked out on Jamil and it is believed she returned to the apartment at the weekend to pick up some belongings.
The initial police inquiry would suggest that Daftary’s death was either a tragic accident or suicide.
At the family home in Brentford, her mother said: “I don’t believe my daughter woulde have done this herself. She had booked a holiday to Dubai and it is also against her religion.
“We don’t know exactly what happened to Sahar. We are just waiting for news from Manchester when we should know more. The truth will come out.”
Brother-in-law Joe Karim said: “She would never commit suicide. It was against everything she believed in. She had everything to live for. She was a beautiful, intelligent, religious woman.”
The family also said that Daftary had given up her modelling career and started a course on business and accounting at Thame sValley University.
She was also upset by a sexually explicit video of her that had appeared on the Internet.
The family’s solicitor Brian Koffman said: “The family is devastated at the tragic loss of Sahar. She had pre-booked a flight to Dubai to celebrate her 24th birthday on Christmas Day with five friends.
“We firmly believe there is no way she would have committed suicide. It would be contrary to her religious beliefs.”
One of her friends already in Dubai, Fatima Raddani, 30, said: “She was beautiful, very friendly and very happy. She was loved by all.
“Sahar would not dream of doing anything like this. She was a very straight girl. It is not like Sahar. She was not even in that mindset.”

That is really so tragic. I think no one will ever throw oneself out of the window from the 12th floor. There is certainly more to the story that what meets the eye.

The attention of this case should not be distracted with the facts in hand….and those are RASHID JAMIL IS VERMIN and its being highlighted in as many words as you dig deeper and deeper.
There have been counter claims from both parties including Rashid Jamils bollywood antics (Red Rose, I am completely Innocent), yet Sahar’s families explanations around what happened, seem far more plausable and realistic than the Serial Liar Rashid Jamil.
Rashid Jamil does not act as a practicing Muslim, so can the politically correct bus, or the Islamaphobists actually get real and start reporting on the matters in hand which is this man decieved this young Lady with a FALSE lifestyle through his successful business dealings(Dissolving 3 of 5 Businesses) and woooing of the family with his BS, which could not be quantified unfortunately at the time.
Look at the statements which are a condemming enough, his alleged BEST MAN- stated he was drunk as a skunk at the wedding??? Are these the actions of a MAN BESOTTED OR IN LOVE? On the pictures that have been published he looks pretty polished to me.
Dubai Trip- Why had Sahar booked these flights without Rashid Jamil if she was besotted and coudnt live without him?
People Like Rashid Jamil jump on the Islam bandwagon when it suits and is convenient as per Omar’s comments, Rashid Jamil prays 5 times a day now…..hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder why??????

Suicide——Surely Sahar would have contemplated this at the time of Ending the relationship or her miscarriage or discovering Mr Jamils Bogus lifestyle claims and business ventures.
Murder? What would a MAN who bases his PROFILE on Materialistic gains through ill means do when he is about to have the biggest bragging rights pulled beneath his feet, and an ex Wife Model was about to bin him off for good and expose him for what he truly was, an uneducated loser.
As a British Muslim who has Sisters , Neices I pray for justice for Sahar and her Family, and hopefully that equates to Rashid Jamil being locked up for LIFE,making every WOMAN’s life safer muslim or non muslim.
