Judge sets date for Anthony trial

The trial of an Orlando mother accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter has been set to go ahead in October.
Orange County Circuit Judge Stan Strickland set a tentative date of October 12 this afternoon for the trial of 22-year-old Caylee Anthony.

BBC strips Corpus Christi College of University Challenge title

Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford, has been stripped of BBC TV’s University Challenge title.
The college’s quiz show team, captained by Gail Trimble who was described as an “intellectual blitzkrieg” because of her phenomenal breadth of knowledge, fielded an ineligible contestant.

Missing map-reading boy found safe in forest

A boy who went missing during a map-reading hike in Texas yesterday was located by a search helicopter this morning.
Cody Moore, 13, spent the night in freezing temperatures in the Sam Houston National Forest.
The helicopter hovered overhead until rescuers reached him about 1,000 feet from Stubblefield Lake Road at 10:30 a.m. today.

Rescue effort saves 54 stranded whales

Rescuers have managed to save some of the 200 whales and dolphins that beached themselves on a beach in Tasmania yesterday.
