Bank robbery suspect breaks leg, drops the cash and ends up with just $2

A man and woman arrested yesterday in connection with a bank robbery in Connecticut were certainly no Bonnie and Clyde.
Jason Durant, 32, of Millerton, New York , and Crystal Eyler, 27, of Sharon, were charged with a hold-up on Tuesday at the National Iron Bank in Cornwall Bridge, said Connecticut State Police.

Oranges packed in man’s suitcase found to contain cocaine

An elderly Dutch man with a suitcase full of oranges told custom officers in Rome today he needed to keep up his vitamin C level.
Closer inspection revealed that the oranges had been stripped of their pulp and contained more than 13 pounds of cocaine.

Ohio cancer scam woman on the run arrested in Utah

An Ohio mother-of-six accused of stealing $800,000 from friends and family by claiming her husband had cancer was arrested yesterday.
Delaware County sheriff’s office said 29-year-old Melanie Chen, of Columbus, was arrested at a Salt Lake City hotel after being on the run for seven weeks.

Japanese mother accused of keeping body of four-year-old son in fridge

A Japanese woman suspected of keeping the body of her four-year-old son in a refrigerator for nearly two years was arrested yesterday.
Miyuki Otsuka, 33, turned herself in to police in western Hyogo prefecture.

Georgia man convicted of stalking Tyra Banks

A Georgia man was convicted today at Manhattan court of stalking the supermodel-turned-TV host Tyra Banks.
Supermarket worker Brady Green, 39, of Dublin, Georgia, was convicted by Manhattan Criminal Court Judge James Burke, who heard the case without a jury, of stalking, harassment, criminal trespass and attempted aggravated harassment.

FBI raids Parente’s Manhattan office

The FBI raided the Manhattan office of tax attorney William Parente yesterday as part of an investigation into his investment business.
