Candy store rapist jailed for 35 years

A teenage rapist was sentenced yesterday to 35 years in prison for the raping an 18-year-old assistant at a Niagara Falls candy store last summer.
Anthony C. Markel, 18, of Niagara Falls, New York State, was sentenced at Niagara County Court for the rape and robbery last August.

Boston hospital performs 17-hour face transplant

A Boston hospital yesterday performed the nation’s second partial face transplant.
The 17-hour operation took place at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on a man who suffered traumatic injuries from a freak accident.

Support grows for Texas bill to allow concealed handguns on campus
