A woman from a Detroit suburb appeared in court this morning charged with second-degree murder in the death of her father after an argument over a dinner roll.
Ava Maria Gordon, 42, of Melvindale, Michigan, was formally charged at the 24th District Cout in Allen Park.
She is accused of killing 62-year-old Greg Gordon shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the home they shared on Outer Drive.
Police say Gordon told investigators she ate a dinner roll that her father had been saving even though it had a note telling her not to do so.
An argument followed during which Gordon stabbed her father. Prosecutors say Gordon stabbed her father after an argument.
Greg Gordon managed to call 911 but was pronounced dead on arrival at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn.
Bond was set for Gordon at $300,000. She is being held in the Wayne County Jail until her next court appearance set for June 8.
