The controversial Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean, has been fired for not doing her job.
The 21-year-old San Diego college student has been unwilling to make appearances and therefore became in breach of her contract.
“This was a decision based solely on contraction violations including Ms. Prejean’s unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization,” said Keith Lewis, co-executive director of the Miss California USA pageant. “After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship.
“However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”
The violations ranged from refusing to appear on the Larry King Live show to turning down red-carpet events from sponsors, said Lewis’ publicist, Roger Neal.
“I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract, said Donald Trump, owner of the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageant system.
“Unfortunately it just doesn’t look like it is going to happen and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision,” Trump said. “Carrie is a beautiful young woman and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests.”
Prejean caused controversy in the final of the Miss USA pageant when she declared her opposition to same-sex marriage.
In the furore that followed, nude and semi-nude photographs of Prejean appeared on the Internet. She claimed she did not pose nude but the wind blew open her top. Other similar vacuous statements ensued.
Not the brightest bulb in the box by any means but bright enough to know that she was going to be pilloried at every public appearance she made.
Her appearance on Larry King Live would probably have shown more of her remarkable ability of putting her foot in her mouth every time she opened it.

I really wasn’t aiming at any ecclesiastical meaning. I am thinking more of the rule/leadership by senior males as opposed to “matriarchal” as practiced in locales such as Sumatra.
