A Texas man sought by police after a sexual encounter with another man turned into murder was arrested in Bryan yesterday.

Thomas Ashford, 22, of Huffman, faces a murder charge in the stabbing death of 60-year-old Alfred Nahapetian.

Ashford, who has prior misdemeanor convictions for car burglary and marijuana possession, is being held at the Harris County jail with a bond of $50,000. His initial court appearance is set for tomorrow morning.

Nahapetian’s body was found by his ex-wife and son at his home on  Steamboat Springs about 8:00 a.m. Saturday. He had been stabbed more than 30 times with a steak knife.

Investigators said that Ashford, whose family lives in College Station, told them he stabbed Nahapetian when he and the older man engaged in sexual activity at the home.

“During the sexual relationship, the defendant stabbed the complainant multiple times,” investigators said in a statement.”The suspect indicated the relationship did not occur as he wished which made him mad, causing him to stab the victim.”

Ashford said he met Nahapetian at a sexual-oriented video store on U.S. 59 at Beltway 8 sometime late June 9 or early June 10. They went to Nahapetian’s home for consensual sex, and the slaying occurred soon after that.

Nahapetian’s family told investigators they had not seen Nahapetian since June 9 and went to check on him.

Investigators found a fingerprint on a beer can in the home that led them to Ashford.

  • Sicko. Sadly, this will be only seen as a crazed man. Yet the fact remains who they were.

How can you expect someone who has no morals to be moral?

    • Amen, I am with you Brother. They should go into every single one of those dens of inequity and round every one of them up and put them in a fenced camp and make them where pink so we can know who is who. The authorities also need to round up all the fornicators, whoremongers, drunks, dopeheads, women who’ve had abortions, gamblers, race mixers, dance hall patrons and put them in another camp. It’s about time someone brought some morals to this great country again. I am glad to see someone talk about morals.

  • Adolf Hitler had similar ideas. We crushed Fascism back then, and we will crush it again if it raises its ugly head once more. Love, tolerance, and peace will make the world (including the USA) a better place. Not hatred, bigotry, and violence.
