A seven-year-old Utah boy died this morning after he was accidentally buried under nearly two feet of dirt.
The boy was playing with several other children yesterday evening on a family member’s property near to his home in Naples, said Uintah County Sheriff’s Cpl Brian Fletcher.
One of the boy’s relatives was using the bulldozer and could not see the boy over the bulldozer blade and move a load of dirt over the child, burying the boy. The other children alerted the driver and the police were called.
By the time sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and found the boy, he had been under the 18 to 24 inches of dirt for 10 to 15 minutes.
He was taken first to Ashley Regional Medical Center and then flown to Primary Children’s Medical Center where he died at 6:00 a.m. His name has not been released.
