A Los Angeles man has been arrested today on suspicion of killing his wife during a cruise to Mexico.
The FBI says Robert McGill is being held in connection with the death of his wife, Shirley, aboard the Carnival Elation. McGill is believed to be in his fifties.
Carnival Cruise Lines said a 55-yearold woman was killed on Tuesday in their cabin during a domestic dispute midway through a five-day cruise to Cabo San Lucas in Baja California.
Crew members found the body and later detained McGill in the brig. Security guards were posted outside the couple’s cabin.
The 2,000-passenger Carnival Elation docked at San Diego this morning. The woman’s body was later removed and McGill was arrested.
Details of how she was killed have not been released.
