Cab driver leads police to dismembered body in his Coney Island home

By Calvin Palmer

New York City police are holding a 53-year-old cab driver after the dismembered body of a woman was found inside his home.

Police responded around 10:00 p.m. yesterday to a 911 call from the cab driver in which he threatened to kill himself.

When officers arrived at his Coney Island home, he led them to several garbage bags containing the remains of 27-year-old Jessica Guidicci.

Police have not released the identity of the man. He was arrested at the scene.

Guidicci’s best friend Michelle Cooper, 28, saw her at 1:30 p.m. yesterday when she left to pick up some Benadryl.

Cooper said the cab driver had been pursuing Guidicci romantically.

“He followed her,” said Cooper. “He gave her free rides. She’d always tell him, sometimes, ‘Leave me alone.'”

Xavier Franks, 31, who has known Guidicci for 10 years, says she was a home health attendant and just turned 27 last week.

Franks described the cab driver as “a neighborhood fixture”.
