A Georgia man arrested in June at a Miley Cyrus movie shoot on Tybee Island, near Savannah, was arrested again yesterday and charged with criminal attempt stalking.
Mark McLeod, 53, of Appling, was arrested without incident at his home yesterday, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Capt Steve Morris said.
The arrest came after Disney security officers on the island reported McLeod was asking where he could find Cyrus last weekend. Tybee Island authorities issued an arrest warrant earlier yesterday.
In June, McLeod made “inappropriate comments” to young girls while attending shoots for The Last Song, according to Tybee police. McLeod screamed obscenities as officers approached him and tried to head-butt an arresting officer as he was being taken to the patrol car.
He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct but was released from the Chatham County jail the day after his arrest because of overcrowding.
He was warned by police to stay away from the movie set.
McLeod claims he is secretly engaged to marry Cyrus and that the teen star has communicated with him through secret messages in photos and her TV show.
