A Houston man was found dead this morning after watching a movie on his car’s DVD player while the car was parked in the garage. Six other people were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of fumes.
Damian Scott, 26, told his wife, Latrice, around 4:30 a.m. that he was going to the garage to watch movies on his car DVD player, said James Bonaby, a homicide investigator with the Houston Police.
His wife noticed the couple’s seven-month-old baby seemed sick this morning and went out to tell her husband. She found him dead, slumped over the steering wheel with the car engine still running.
She was soon overcome by the fumes but one of her four children called 911 just after 8:00 a.m.
The occupants of the house on Inwood Hollow – two women, aged 21 and 27, and Scott’s four children were taken to hospital and are in a stable condition.
The family has lived in the north Houston home for about two to three months.
